HOMEWORK - Ms. Rinker's Classes

Homework is an important part of a student's learning, understanding and responsibility.  Each day, the homework assignments are written on the classroom whiteboard.  Students are expected to copy what is written on the whiteboard into their agenda books.  Sixth grade students should be spending a minimum of sixty (60) minutes per day on homework assignments from Team Avalanche teachers.

In addition, another 20-30 minutes should be spent on reading independently at home.

HOMEWORK GUIDELINES AND POLICIES

  • Homework is checked daily.

  • Two (2) points is given for each homework assignment in the classroom.

  • Zero (0) points is given if the homework is in the locker or left at home.

  • Some homework assignments are collected and graded - students are notified in advance.

  • There will be times when homework is graded "unannounced".

AGENDA BOOKS AND SSR BOOKS

  • Agenda books and SSR books are checked weekly on a Friday.

  • Students will earn six (6) points per week and these points will be added under the notebook check category in Home Access Center to their Reading Grade.

  • Two (2) points are given for having all of the assignments written down neatly in the agenda book.
