FAMILY

I have two four-legged children. They are my two Mini-Dachshunds. The loves of my life!

"Luey" born Dec. 2, 2007

His real name is Luis Ramos Rinker.  He's named in memory of my good friend and former mentor Luis Ramos.  Maybe you heard of the Allentown Elementary School named after Luis Ramos?  Well, he was my dear friend and unfortunately, he died in a tragic auto accident in January of 2008.  To honor the memory of Lou, I named my dog Luey after him.

Luey is a traditional red mini-dachshund. He's a very light red, actually some would say he's a blonde red color.  He loves to play with his bone and he's very smart!  He knows a lot of words that I say - no he can't talk - but he understands what I'm saying to him.  I love my little boy!

"Karlie Anne" born Feb. 19, 2009

Karlie has an interesting story of her own. She's known as a piebald mini-dachshund. She has some rather odd colors and markings. Most people think she's mixed with a Beagle because she has the coloring in her face that resembles a Beagle.  She also has white with black spots like a Dalmation, so she's very interesting and rare!

Karlie arrived on a flight from Paducah, Kentucky.  I searched the internet for her to find her unusual color.  Karlie loves to play with sunbeam reflections and lazer lights.  She chases them all over the place.  She loves to eat and crowds Luey out of his food dish when they are fed. She also makes a lot of little baby noises and yes, she's very spoiled!  I love my baby girl!
